Summer Program Support

The Educators Committee is working on a project to provide support to the families of five students joining the Monarch community from out of town for the summer program, June 12-July 13. We are seeking ways to welcome these families to Houston and make their stay comfortable and enjoyable. Your thoughts are needed! Please post a comment here and/or email Miranda (mhenry4@uh.edu) with your ideas. Thanks!

The web is such a wonderful resource for getting to know new cities. Perhaps we can contribute some helpful sites for visiting families to check out. Here are two:

An article on touring Houston on a budget:

The official Houston Visitor's Guide webpage, which also contains e-coupons for attractions around town:
http://www.visithoustontexas.com

The convention and visitors bureau can also be reached by calling (800) 446-8786 or stopping by the center, located on the first floor of City Hall, 901 Bagby St. Here you can get the Space City Savings Book (discount coupons and 2-for-1 tickets to various attractions).

what is this?
